Although it may be too cold yet to swim the rivers, there is still plenty to do. Florida is the perfect winter destination in an RV!

Another of Ocala National Forest’s amazing springs is Juniper Springs. If you have a motorcycle or ATV with you, don’t fail to get on the Ocala North OHV Trail System with its 125 miles of trails. Motorcyclists get a 14-mile trail dedicated just to motorcycles. This is a place where you can get up close and personal with the forests and nature.
Fishing is wonderful throughout Ocala National Forest. Rivers, streams, lakes and ponds – take your pick! A long list of lakes and ponds will keep you going for days, even weeks, without a break. For instance, the Rodman Recreation Area gives any angler the opportunity at some bank fishing in Rodman Reservoir along the Kirkpatrick Dam. The Ocklawaha will provide great bass fishing. Try the Alexander Run to make a trophy catch.
With four wilderness areas within the forest, you will find a wide array of wildlife to enjoy. You may see bears, wild boars or alligators (or all three). The solitude in the swamps is a wonderful thing when you wish to get away from it all. And just think – you escaped the freezing winds from up north. What a great place for a winter vacation. You’ll have to come back another winter!
