Kayaking is great in Alexander Springs Here you may just want to hop in the water, as it stays a constant 72 degrees Fahrenheit all year round.

Salt Springs is a recreation area within Ocala National Forest where folks come to enjoy the water at any time of year. There are canoe rentals if you didn’t bring your own. You can have a picnic or simply camp here in your RV and cook up a lovely meal. You will find full hookup sites available.

Another of Ocala National Forest’s amazing springs is Juniper Springs. Fishing is wonderful throughout Ocala National Forest. Rivers, streams, lakes and ponds – take your pick! A long list of lakes and ponds will keep you going for days, even weeks, without a break. Try the Alexander Run to make a trophy catch.

With four wilderness areas within the forest, you will find a wide array of wildlife to enjoy. You may see bears, wild boars or alligators (or all three). The solitude in the swamps is a wonderful thing when you wish to get away from it all. And just think – you escaped the freezing winds from up north. What a great place for a winter vacation.
