Utah Winter Sports RV Excursion

Picture of Person Skiing New PowderThe mountain ranges of Utah are prime winter sports territory, and those who know how to RV camp in winter can really save some cash. We’ve collected a helpful list of ski resorts waiting to entertain winter sports fans in Utah this winter.

Of course, we suggest you start your trip by picking up an RV rental at El Monte RV in Salt Lake City! From there, it’s less than an hour to Solitude Mountain Resort near Midway, UT. Ski Honeycomb Canyon, enjoy the Family Fun Park and challenge yourself in Solitude’s Nordic Center, and then take a well-deserved rest at River’s Edge at Deer Park RV Resort. This year-round campground in the scenic Heber Valley is far enough away to avoid the crowds and still be convenient to all area ski resorts.

For instance, you can reach Deer Valley Ski Resort, voted best ski resort in North America four years in a row by SKI magazine, in just twenty minutes. Ski their world-class slopes, take a snowmobiling tour or challenge yourself on the resort’s NASTAR ski racing course. The awesome scenery itself is worth the trip!

Another fantastic way to find winter fun is with a visit to Soldier Hollow, where tubing and cross-country skiing rule the mountain. The tubing park, complete with lights and music, boasts some of the longest tubing lanes around.

If you’re riding an adrenaline high and still hoping for snowboarding action, Park City Mountain Ski Resort is the ticket! Four outstanding parks and pipes, including one of the largest half pipes in America, promise thrills for even the boldest winter sports fans.

And we’d be remiss if we talked about Utah winter sports without suggesting a visit to Park City’s Utah Olympic Park. Take a tour of the park and stay to ride the blazingly fast Comet Bobsled ride down the mountain.

Who knew that so much fun could be found less than an hour’s drive from Salt Lake City? Utah’s family-friendly, world-class winter sports resorts, and the ease of winter RV camping, make this vacation idea one you should explore. It’s time to hit the slopes, the tube runs and the half pipes of Utah ski country; book your RV, pack your skis and get moving!
