Panama City Beach, Florida. What better place to spend the summer? Beautiful white beaches, wild dolphins playing just off shore, deep sea fishing, fantastic shopping at Piers Park, and a great RV park (Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort) next door to Zoo World. That means you get to sit outside, close your eyes and imagine that you have your RV parked somewhere on the veldt.
You can take a boat out to shell island and spend time walking up and down the beach. The day we were there, skate (a fish that looks a lot like a manta ray) were gobbling up smaller fish at the edge of the surf. It was fascinating to watch them. Later, we were entertained watching dolphins just off of the beach. Since we were on a sight-seeing boat, we were able to get an up close and personal look at them. Somehow, they just seemed to ignore us totally.
A lot has been implied through the media reports, however, the oil spill isn’t close to Panama City Beach. That means that a lot of tourists have been needlessly canceling their reservations leaving the beaches relatively deserted. It’s kind of nice to be able to take a walk along the beach without having to dodge the kids, the volleyballs and the body boards.
As if that isn’t enough, the park is planning some great things this year. How about a class on cooking your freshly caught fish? Or an off shore fishing expedition? Be sure to check out our Resort Activities page for things happening at the RV Park, and our Area Attractions page for other great things to do.
The things to see and do around here are too numerous to mention, you just have to check it out yourself. Give us a call, set up your reservation and get ready to have the time of your life!
